Gary Bigelow is a professor of Spanish language and literature at Western Michigan University. He is the father of two (including the editor of On a Whim), husband of one, and pet-owner of a feisty yet adorable miniature dachshund. Lisa Bigelow believes in 3-day weekends and 6-hour workdays (for a start). Among her pursuits are writing, making art, practicing Frisbee, and finding ways to pay rent in the Bay Area. In spite of her underlying suspicion and resentment of computers, she is the web designer and editor of On a Whim. She encourages anyone and everyone to participate in this project.

Krista Goebel reads tampon instructions and shampoo bottles to avoid work. She received her sociology degree from Western Michigan in summer of 2001. She believes in opportunity and responsibility and wise choices. She practices none of these regularly and some of them sporadically. Krista’s primary aspiration is to be a brownie baking, slumber party planning, mini-van driving, parent-teacher conference attending, mall shopping, thank you note writing, nap taking, Oprah watching, Martha Stewart resenting, peace appreciating, celebrated soccer mom.
Keith Irwin is a mastermind of cryptography, whimsical poetry, and intergalactic telepathy. He lives in North Carolina.
Jeri McKinley recently moved with her husband Mark into a new house in Freedom, New Hampshire, which she is enjoying immensely. She has a motto: “Those who can, teach. Those who can’t, go into some lesser line of work.” She now teaches at Carpenter School in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, where she keeps the peace in as many classrooms as she can in one day. She is constantly tried by her two no-good sons, Joe and Isaac Chellman, and her favorite Peanuts character is Lucy.
Matthew Sheby is a research scientist at a University of Southern California media lab and is the in-house rock auteur for Soundtrack.net. If movie screenings were chicken wontons, he would have heartburn from consuming so many. Matt is too suave to grovel for autographs when he meets stars; and the chicks flock. Be nice to him and maybe he’ll invite you to his Hollywood mansion to use his jacuzzi.
Mark Weathers is butt one of our whole. Third personally speaking, he’s out of his gourd and loves it! But in the harsh real world, our little artist buddy attends UGA in an attempt to further his interests, abilities, and know-who. Though he lacks any trace of motivation, he does own some dwarf hamsters.
